Wood's divorce settlement

#1

Juanita Jordan rocked Michael in the divorce. She got a record $150 Million, the house, plus $1 Million per year for life.

What is Elin going to get?

It seems that some British Bookmaker is already accepting bets on the outcome.

British bookies take bets on Woods’ divorce

For the record:

-bettors can get 25-1 odds that Nordegren will receive more than half a billion dollars in a divorce settlement.
-the odds drop to 6-4 for a settlement under $100 million.
-William Hill is offering only 1-2 odds that she would get between $100 million and $500 million.

Do years in a marriage factor at all in divorce settlements? I would think Juanita was married to Michael a few more years then Elin but that might not make a difference.

#3

Does anybody know how much each guy is worth?

#4

I think the number is $300 million from the prenup. This was the number she got if he cheated on her. Read that somewhere, drudgereport I think.

#5

Probably a stupid question, but there is a pre-nup, right? Doesn’t that make it cut and dry as to what Elin will get?

#6

It depends what the pre-nup says. A pre-nup is essentially a contract and, like many contracts, there are assumptions and conditions that could void the pre-nup. Probably gross infidelity would void the pre-nup; but you don’t know until you actually read the pre-nup. Whatever, both sides probably have several lawyers (both US and Swedish) going over the pre-nup with a fine toothed comb.

“Gross infidelity” seems like such a vague term. Isn’t the skankiness of these women completely subjective?

“Gross” refers more to the number of times he did it rather than the quality of the infidelee. The analog would be “gross negligence” or “willful misconduct” which tends to obviate many contractual terms.

Thanks for the clarification!
