Women 23rd in AP Poll

AP Women’s Basketball Poll

Next up is the #11 team on that list – at home. A win could mean we jump up further. And could also go a long way toward a Big Ten championship. Of the four remaining games after Sparty, the two toughest (by record at least) are at home – @IU (2-9), @OSU (4-6), Purdue (6-5) and Northwestern (5-6). Beat Sparty and we have a good shot.

The BIG TEN looks very underrepresented in that poll.

I looked at the list and saw the same thing you did. Then I dropped down and saw that you had already noted it. Anyway, like wow only two BigTen schools in the top 25.

They aren’t underrepresented if you look at their recent record.

At the moment, the Big Ten is only fifth in conference RPI.
In 2010, no Big Ten team made it to the Sweet Sixteen.
In 2009, 6th seed Purdue was the only B10 team in the Elite Eight and they lost.
In 2008, no Big Ten team made it to the Sweet Sixteen.

So the perception is that women’s hoops in the Big Ten hasn’t been too good recently.
