Prayers for Joe

#1

TOS are reporting that Joe’s health has taken a turn for the worst.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe and his family.

It might wise to have two Paterno threads pinned at the top…one for the inevitable rush of media stories (links), and one for our own thoughts and opinions.

I had so hoped there would be a investigation report out before this that would have at least put everything into proper perspective. As the most visible symbol of Penn State, he took the brunt of media abuse, but in time I am sure his role will be properly assessed. Here’s hoping he makes it to that day. He is a great man.

Big-time +1 Tim

#5

Reports are not looking good. I can’t remember the last time I cried. But this already has me choked up. I hope he has one more upset victory left in him.

#6

Says it simply … and poignantly

#7

Come on Joe, keep fighting.

#8

I had not heard this news - thanks for the update.

Joe, keep fighting like you always have. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Condition is serious, family tells AP

Gosh, I knew things sounded pretty bad on what we learned from the Jenkins article. So many great contributions for all Penn Staters.
Joe told Jenkins his life had been great and he was trying to not go out bitter. Joe will go out with his family around him and feel not at all bitter but blessed.
Penn State people need to focus on feeling blessed for having him as part of our DNA for over 60 years.
Thank you Joe Paterno.

Never sure what to say in a situation like this, but pray for him and his family. To quote TJB, he is indeed a great man.

CNBC reporter Darren Rovell briefly addressed Paterno's role in the Jerry Sandusky scandal, which led to his subsequent firing.

“From what we know, Joe Paterno lived 99.99% of his adult life as a noble man. Some will remember the .01%.”

Hang in there Coach.

#16

Rumors of his death are exaggerated?

#17

9 minutes ago Jay posted on Facebook that his father is “continuing to fight as he always has”.

#18

gotta believe if you could hear all the prayers being said … it would be deafening

#19

Someone is either alive or dead. What a bunch of incompetents

#20

Unbelievable from Onward State.

They should do the honorable thing and disband.
