Positive Vibes (Sacred Heart)

OK, you asked for it, so here it is. Time to right this ship. Above all, keep it positive folks…

  • Battle and Frazier develop a great chemistry in the backcourt.

  • Andrew Jones becomes a force down low.

  • Bill Edwards brings the team some much needed toughness

-We’re finally playing with the Nike ball again, therefore I expect to see a noticeable increase in FG%

-Chris Babb shows up and shoots the ball well

-Bill Edwards adds some grit to the offense and improves from last game.

-Jones builds on last performance and starts to dominate down low.

-We beat this team last year at home, and push the Charleston horror show out of our minds. Rest of the season begins now.

Somebody makes a 3 pointer

We look like a fluid hoops team

They start a 7 foot, 18.5 stone senior Brit center, Liam Potter. Didn’t play last year and is avg. 9.5 & 3 for the first two games and a 6’9 245lb junior Turk, Mehmet Sahan who is avg. 8 & 7.5. Both went to Tilton Prep in NH. Sounds as if they have BigTen size at least. Someone for us needs to show BigTen talent inside.

I gave a crap answer to this the first time so I’ll give a real one now. What makes this game good is as follows:

1.We show the skill to shutdown the lane but also guard a three ball without having to run all around the floor to cover.

2.Roles start to become more apparent and players start to believe in eachothers ability to get their job done.

3.Shots start falling, for whatever reason (ball, homecourt, luck)

4.The Classic looks like a bump in the road and the ship is headed in the right direction

That’s-what-she-said.

Good ball movement opens up good looks for 3 point shots that go down.
Free throws continue to go down.
Better defense comes to play.
Brooks rebounds. Drew rebounds as well.
Team gets the swagger back for tough road trips that are coming up.

Brooks gets his first of several double-doubles.

Talor and Tim combine for 25 pts and 15 assists, getting everyone involved.

Ed did a whole lot of thinking on the plane ride back and has chosen more uptempo, pressing style of basketball that he is now going to stick with for the rest of the season. He is going to rotate in 10 players, keeping everybody fresh and demand 110% effort on the floor, especially on the defensive end, or playing time is adjusted.

#11

We shoot 40% from 3 pt land

In the spirit of Thanksgiving…
Home cookin’ works its magic…

All of the shots fall.
Everyone is 1/2 step quicker to their spots - even TimF.

It’s all good.

Edwards becomes a force, and while not starting today, will be one within a week.

Sasa plays and contributes big time inside, and his minutes grow.
