OT Wrestling

Wrestling live on ESPNU right now. Getting closer to that National Championship

In second place to Cornell but two PSU guys went down with injury, including #2 seed Ed Ruth (and hvy Cameron Wade). Ruth looked like he might not be able to continue which would be a huge blow. I’d say there’s a chance that Wade could wrestle tonight but he will definitely be handicapped.

Cael said both were expecting to go tonight.

This morning the Patriot news called out Ruth’s potential Semi-final bout vs the Iowa kid as the key to the team title. I sure hope he’s OK, and that he’s ready to go.

David Taylor v Bubba Jenkins tomorrow…you knew it was too good for it to NOT to happen.

Penn State has opened up a nice lead advancing Molinaro, Taylor, and Wright into the finals. Quentin Wright has really come on strong. His pin last night happened in a blink of an eye.

It was quick. I’m glad I have a DVR because I had to watch it a couple of times so I could see how he did it.

DVR = one of the best inventions ever.

Congrats to Cael and the boys. Looks like they have just about have locked up the championship

now it is…we can’t be caught

National Champs ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That’s terrific. How quickly Cale’s presence (and hard work) changed the landscape of PSU wrestling.

Now if people could just spell his name

AWESOME BABY!!

Two horrible matches by PSU to open the finals…0-2.

Didn’t go the way I had hoped.

Bubba Jenkins, the PSU castoff, pins Taylor for what may be Taylor’s only loss in his collegiate career.

Someone at Iowa State is a tad bitter:

For those who may not know…

There’s a huge buzz being generated in Central PA by a kid named Chance Marsteller. He just won the Class AAA gold at 157, the heaviest weight class in which a freshman has become a state champion. He finished the year undefeated.

It would be great to see this kid in Blue&White in a couple of years.

Marsteller has been turning heads in the wrestling community the past couple years…already.

Here’s another article on him from last year
