OT: "The Mighty Macs"

#1

Pat Chambers’ older brother Tim’s movie about Immaculata’s Mighty Macs finally makes it to the big screen four years after completion of filming. It opens at 1000 theaters worldwide next week but has its world premier at the Kimmel Center in Philly tomorrow.

Philly.com reports

I just loved this quote from Immaculata’s former coach Cathy Rush

“At the point I met Tim, I think I realized how difficult the task really was,” Rush said. “But I saw Tim was going to bring this incredible energy.”

Sound familiar?

The guy that played Cathy Rush’s husband was on Regis & Kelly this morning. It looked like it may be worth a trip to the movies.

David Boreanaz. He plays Emily Deschanel’s partner (and sometime love interest) on “Bones” and was also the title character in “Angel”, a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff.

If there weren’t an Icer’s game Friday, I’d probably go.

I’ll go out on a limb and guess that Rene won’t be one of those “special guests”.

Would certainly make for an entertaining night both on and off the big screen.

“The Mighty Macs” debuts tonight.

Here’s a nice Sporting News story about the movie that mentions how ALL of the Philly area coaches, including Chambers, made the worldwide premiere last week.

The Mighty Macs movie ‘absolutely, positively terrific’

A really interesting piece in the article tells how the actress who plays Phil Martelli’s wife in the movie got into St Joe’s.
