OT: PSU Ice Hockey

That’s true. It will be interesting to see what happens to conference alignment if this happens. Right now the WCHL is in trouble. All but Huntsville and the two Alaska schools are talking about forming their own league and leaving the rest out. The two Alaska schools almost shut down hockey a couple years ago. This might force them out (or maybe it saves them if they can reduce their travel expense).

Adding Penn would mean 7 Ivy League schools (Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell and Princeton already play D-1). Would they leave the ECAC and for an Ivy League for hockey? If that happens, where do Union, St. Lawrence, Quinnipiac, Clarkson, Colgate and RPI go? That’s still six schools – enough to stick together. Maybe they pull a couple schools from Atlantic Hockey.

All speculation of course. But more changes are coming (including Illinois in the B1G soon).

That stinks for out of towners

Limoges was named first team preseason All-American by College Hockey News. Folkes was a second team All-American, but curiously not mention at all for Big Ten preseason honors.

And somehow Barratt wasn’t mentioned by CHN. I like reading CHN, but to put Folkes over Barratt is a head scratcher to me.

Home opener Friday night vs Sacred Heart. Fight on State! :ice_hockey:

Does anybody know why Pavylchev is not playing for PSU?
