Looks like were in the same boat as them. They clearly have an easier path, however.

He kinda needs to do it his job is on the line as there are rumors that he is already fired.

Yeah, I guess he has nothing to lose. Just another worthless guarantee. Anything can happen in the P10 though…

Considering the Big Ten has four of the top 15 teams in the country and no one in the Pac Ten is in the Top 40, not even receiving any votes in the AP - shocking, I know - I’d say that’s quite accurate. In fact, PSU will most likely have to go through three of those Top 15 teams to sniff a title.

Add to that the fact that all the teams in the Big Ten take a lot of pride in winning the Big Ten Tourney and not just saving their energy for the Big Dance, and we my friends have one tall task ahead of us. Win this tourney and we not only deserve to be in the Dance, but a #4 seed should be coming our way. OK that’s not possible, but we’d be the most dangerous #11 or #12 in recent past. Good thing there aren’t 96 teams, or we’d be a #19 or #20 seed ::slight_smile:

Georgia got a 14 seed two years ago when they went on their miracle run. I suspect we’d see something similar.

Based upon when the Big Ten Championship game ends, I’m pretty sure that they’d find the last team in the bracket, make us interchangable with them (meaning that they wouldn’t be meeting a Big Ten team in the first 2 rounds, wouldn’t be meeting a team that either of us played this season, etc), and have us simply playing for that team’s spot in the field. So my guess would be a 12 seed. At least with Georgia, they had a few extra hours to work with, however the timing of the Big Ten game means that they have almost nothing and would just have to have 2 brackets ready to go.

Good points Lar and frats.

I’d think they’d slide us in at #12 if the miracle of miracles comes to pass.

I also feel that we have to root for upsets along the way…NW over Purdue, Illinois over both Wisconsin and Ohio State ;D. Michigan State’s bus to get lost on the way to the arena. Ralph Sampson III to sign with an agent before Thursday  You know, little things like that.

Second round blowout loss to California. ;D

I know Oregon has had a bad year this year, but firing Ernie Kent is nuts. It’s not like the guy has forgotten how to coach all of a sudden. He took Oregon to 2 Elite 8s! Who do they think they will get that will do better? If he is fired every college that has a vacancy should have him at the top of their list.

Ernie Kent is let go.
