OT: One way to try to beat the toll

#1

although not the recommended approach.

Drunk Driver Goes All General Lee Out of DFW

Amazingly, the driver survived with minor injuries.

Not so amazingly, she was arrested for DUI.

Holy crap.

She must have been going 60 - 70 MPH. It was also 6:15AM… what an idiot.

#3

Not exactly what I call EZPass… ;D

Thanks, Lar…

#4

And the driver walked away practically unhurt.

#5

I hope her “text message” got send.

#6

Looked like just another Toyota to me.

Just passed through DFW yesterday and had to deal with a different incident…

As they say in the South…it’s not the heat, it’s the stupidity.

I Loved this line

That person called police, who used the bomb squad robot to blow the bag open and render it safe”.

I’ll bet that robot also did one helluva lot of “rendering” of the rest of the bag’s contents. I bet the owner got quite a surprise when he went to claim it.

I guess we are a little bit paranoid these days. Not sure what would be a better solution. But there has to be a better way to handle this situation than just blowing up someone’s bag arrived before the owner and it had a couple wires hanging out.

There was some baseball game recently in which during a rain delay, someone left their tote bag in the seats as the owner went for cover during the rain.

And that was enough to warrant it being labeled a suspicious package, and they cleared out the section (of those who didn’t mind the rain) to check it out.

The interesting part about this whole thing, was that I’m thinking it was discovered on the baggage carousel outside of gate E16. Yet they moved everyone to gate E18, not all that far away and called that area “safe”. How would they know if in fact it was a bomb, how big an impact it would have made on the area and even the entire terminal. Needless to say, I got myself to the far end of the terminal.

Soon enough, someone will develop a way to make explosive clothing. Before you know it everyone will have to fly naked.
