The Martian ... pretty, pretty good!
I’ve been debating if I should see the movie first, or read the book first and then the movie. I think I might enjoy some of the science behind it better if I can read it first… Any thoughts?
See the movie 1st. Then read the book. That way you won’t be disappointed with the movie comparing it to the book.
Really enjoyed the movie, was generally entertained throughout it. Below are my rankings of recent space epic movies. Just started reading the book (my 1st book in years, 5 chapters in), and it’s great so far.
Gravity 4/5 (still think it’s the best of all of them)
The Martian 3.5/5 (would have been great if it was cut down a 1/2 hour or so)
Interstellar 2.5/5 (1st half was great, 2nd half not so much)
Can’t wait for Star Wars. Bought my tickets last night for the Friday night showing up in Philly. Flying up there the night it releases for the Drexel game. Going to have to stay off social media, my rss feeds and entertainment sites between when I take off and start seeing the movie. It’s going to be torture.
Also going to check out the 1st 2 Back to the Future movies tomorrow (in the theater) on BTTF day.
