Reached out to a friend that goes to Alabama, said he was 100 yards away from the tornado and said ‘yeah man literally nothing is standing’… terrible stuff.

Here is a video of the tornado going right by Bryant-Denny Stadium today. It looks pretty big. Also, my sister outside of Northern Atlanta has a tornado warning in effect - there seems to be a nasty storm going through that strand.

Wow could you imagine if that before/after pic was college or beaver ave? Luckily the valley is not prone to tornadoes… sad

We were spared in Atlanta this time, but downright scary stuff. Lots of high winds and with big trees all around my house, one can never be too safe in these conditions. Had the family sleeping downstairs last night and would have moved them to the basement if anything came close. About a dozen years ago one did pass about five minutes north of me in Dunwoody…cut a path of destruction that you can still make out today with all the trees that were lost that night.

I heard that there were tornado warnings/watches for State College yesterday. Don’t believe there were any. Also, I remember seeing a picture on twitter (probably retweeted by NGameday) of someone from Penn State capturing a tornado. This was earlier this year, could be wrong.

NittanyIllini, only tornado I’ve ever encountered (North Jersey) occurred when I was in a Home Depot with my family. Walked back outside and we were like WTF happened. Neighbors had been getting their roof re-done and it ripped off everything and they had to live in a trailer for a month or two while their home was fixed up. I also believe a tree fell right onto the house across the street - BIG tree too.

Three weeks ago, we had another big storm (no tornado) come through our area and take out a big ole oak tree. Luckily, it just landed across the road, taking out all the wires with it. Living on a cul-de-sac, that meant no power, phone, cable and the like for a few days. Doesn’t seem so bad considering all the photos and videos that are surfacing today from Alabama and Georgia.
