OT - ESPN Sport Science

It’s not posted yet, but ESPN Sport Science had a great piece about Michael Vick today. He has some freakish numbers in their analysis.

I remember seeing him as a freshman at Va Tech flicking these 40-yard bullets and being stunned.

Is this the same Sport Science that was originally on MSG? Did ESPN pick it up?

Decided to check before I post (google is amazing), and yes, it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport_Science_(TV_series) I remember watching this show when it first came out, and it was very interesting. Not surprised it got picked up by ESPN.

The first one or two of those sports science pieces were interesting.

Now, it’s just a lot of hype and fluff. Somewhat interesting stats and data, but nothing interesting from a “science” point of view.

I agree. The few shows that I’ve watched seemed totally contrived.

The mainstream will do that to many things. Music, TV shows, etc.

The show was really cool when it first came out. More science based.
