We already have a game to watch thread, and a Maine thread, but not a combination of the two. RPIs aren’t exact, since some games have been played today.

Last Game: W 79-62 vs Lafayette
Next Game: 1/26 vs Bucknell

Fairfield: 14-4 (7-1), RPI: 119
Last Game: W 67-60 vs Canisius
Next Game: 1/23 vs Niagara

St. Joes: 5-13 (0-5), RPI: 201
Last Game: L 64-59 vs Rhode Island
Next Game: Today vs Pennsylvania

Central Connecticut State: 12-7 (5-3), RPI: 148

Ole Miss: 13-7 (1-4), RPI: 84
Last Game: W 78-51 vs LSU
Next Game: 1/29 vs Tennessee

Furman: 12-5 (6-2), RPI:127
Last Game: W 85-69 vs Chattanooga
Next Game: 1/24 vs Wofford

Maryland: 12-7 (2-3), RPI: 95
Last Game: W 79-77 vs Clemson
Next Game: 1/27 vs Virginia

Duquesne: 12-5 (5-0), RPI: 102
Last Game: W 83-67 vs Charlotte
Next Game: 1/26 vs Fordham

Mount St. Mary’s: 6-14 (4-3), RPI: 254
Last Game: W 61-45 vs Sacred Heart
Next Game: Today vs Quinnipiac

Virginia Tech: 12-5 (4-3), RPI: 67
Last Game: W 74-57 vs Maryland
Next Game: Today vs Longwood

Maine: 10-7 (5-1), RPI: 158
Last Game: W 72-58 vs Vermont
Next Game: Today vs Stony Brook

I am pleasantly surprised with the RPIs of Furman and CCSU while I didn’t expect Lehigh’s to be so low. The rest are about where I expected them to be before the season started.

More important number is their strength of schedule impact number. It specifically shows the effect scheduling the team has on the RPI. Here’s their impact ranking in order.

Fairfield: 14-4 (7-1), RPI: 119 - SOS Impact 65
Virginia Tech: 12-5 (4-3), RPI: 67 - SOS Impact 69
Duquesne: 12-5 (5-0), RPI: 102 - SOS Impact 90
Ole Miss: 13-7 (1-4), RPI: 84 - SOS Impact 93
Furman: 12-5 (6-2), RPI:127 - SOS Impact 98
Maryland: 12-7 (2-3), RPI: 95 - SOS Impact 100
Central Connecticut State: 12-7 (5-3), RPI: 148 - SOS Impact 122
Maine: 10-7 (5-1), RPI: 158 - SOS Impact 130
Lehigh: 11-9 (2-3), RPI: 224 - SOS Impact 179
St. Joes: 5-13 (0-5), RPI: 201 - SOS Impact 263
Mount St. Mary’s: 6-14 (4-3), RPI: 254 - SOS Impact 271

Where do you get those numbers from? CollegeRPI?

#4

Yes.

And I’m proud to say that he started publishing them as a result of a suggestion by me (insert pat on my own back emoticon).

noobd,

Nice work. Thanks for this.

As for the pat on my own back emoticon, it would be cool, except for the fact that it would be used ad nauseam by too many posters on this board.   ;D >:( :frowning: :o 8) ??? ::slight_smile: :stuck_out_tongue: :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :’(

Mount St. Mary’s, Virginia Tech and Maine all won. St Joe’s lost.

#7

Fairfield tipping off against Niagara right now.

#8

21-19 at half. :o

#9

Fairfield wins 57-49.

@PSUSTRETCH: Good Morning RPI! Nittany Lions check in at #49 with a Strength of Schedule of 5!!...5!! 10 of 11 non-con opponents won their last game.

Wow, who would have thunk this when the schedule was put together? We have things working for us. Word of mouth after the 2 close games vs OSU and Purdue. SoS is now huge. RPI is in a nice spot. Now win games boys!

#11

Duquesne beat Fordham by 19 on the road.

Lehigh lost by 13 to Bucknell.

#12

Maine is now in the top 150, too.

#13

Which is good. Highly unlikely they will crack the Top 100, though. If they do, it might not be looked at as a bad loss. We can hope.

#14

Games tonight: Maryland playing at Virginia , St. Joe’s @ La Salle.

#15

Somehow I missed this one: Mount St. Marys lost to Central Conn State by 19 today.

I guess I just didn’t look very hard, because Furman lost to Western Carolina by 24

#16

Thanks for this thread, noobd. When the season started I didn’t know St. Joe’s would be so close to the bottom of the RPI list.

#17

Thanks.

Neither did I, I thought they’d be 150~ , not 225ish. CCSU, Furman, Duquesne and Maine have all done better than we though – while Lehigh and St. Joes have disappointed. The first four seem to outweigh the last two, so far.

Fairfield (15-4, 8-1) is taking on Manhattan (3-17, 1-8) tonight.

#19

5-0 run in the last 25 seconds to win by 2. That gives them a 2 game lead in the MAAC at the half-way mark.

They won by 2? Not going to get much for that win. Manhattan stinks. Fairfield was favored by 20 1/2. Game was at Fairfield as well.
