DJ Newbill is smitten with an older woman apparently:)

D.J. will be out for a few more weeks with a senior.

#3

Trey Lewis was out? I don’t remember hearing about that being reported before.

#4

nice one Tom, that took me a second.

Tim is a freak. His speed, his athleticism, he's a much better shooter than people give him credit for, his IQ, he can run a team, he can jump out of the building. On Saturday he had a lob dunk and a followup dunk. I know people are criticizing me for making the comparisons (to the Villanova guards), but I was around them every day and Tim is up there with them.

Oh what a difference a year can make. Hell, 9 months. I can remember people suggesting several games into last season that Frazier shouldn’t have been starting. Now he’s being compared to some of the best guards in college basketball the last 10 years.

wow…talk about doling out some information. refreshing to see a coach discuss players and how they are playing and provide information to the fans. That is a good way to start to build a fanbase.

  • In 20 minutes on Saturday we scored 39 points. We have some talent. Tim is going to demand a lot of attention. Billy Oliver is going to get some shots, Glover, Ross, Cam. Sasa and Jon are capable inside. There are other guys capable of helping out the cause.

That beats Illinois 3 out of 4 times

Nice 8)

Though 39 in 40 minutes should do the trick as well.

I agree Cletus. It’s very refreshing.

Me neither, though it didn’t sound too serious.

Not too strong mentions of Pat Ackerman or Peter Alexis, esp when he talks of inside play. I’ve always been a fan of Sasa, but concerned about interior defense.

Boo for omitting Ross Travis as a member of the freshman class

Philly.com

Philadelphia as a predictor of success:

The 39-year-old Newtown Square native certainly has a long road ahead of him, but with his strong Philadelphia roots, he seems up to the challenge of rebuilding the Penn State program.

Billy was asked the following question and provided the following answer:

Q: How comfortable have you felt out on the wing during the course of the pre-season?
A: More and more. Coach has been nothing but positive and that has helped me gain confidence and be the player I can be and coach wants me to be.

I wonder if Billy’s going to see time at the 3 or if he’ll be playing on the wing as the 4?

Also, Billy’s now listed as a RS JR on the PSU roster. I think he was previously listed as a RS SO. I think he redshirted his first season and then was injured the next season. Last year was his soph year and this year is his junior year. Makes sense to me. I guess he could be eligible for a 6th year but he needs to petition for it. Who knows if he will.
