Freshmen expected to make impact

Ready to rebound: Lady Lions have forgotten slow finish last year

Lucas — who is just the second McDonald’s High School All-American to play for Penn State — has impressed a lot of her teammates with her poise early in her rookie campaign.

I didn’t realize that Penn State only ever had 1 McAll-American before this season. Who was it?

Jennifer Harris in 2003

I forgot all about her. I was thinking of Potthoff, Mazzante, or the tall chick that transferred to Georgia after the Final Four.

Potthoff was probably before they had girls McAll-Americnas

Not to be a contrary…(heaven forbid!!) But, I don’t think Potthoff was a very highly rated recuit. I remember Rene talking about her recruiting (after the fact.)
She did turn out to be a wonderful player and she does/did have a full size photo hanging in the Family First Sport Park in Erie. I think she grew up in the area! Boy, did she have great post foot work!

P.S. I think I’m just looking for some “hoop talk.” I think both teams will/could be very interesting this season.
