Jeff Brooks update

Two games into his first pro season, I’m guessing his shoulder is OK. He’s averaging 18.5 ppg and 11 rpg

And shooting 75% from beyond the arc.

You could just see it coming… so much physical talent.
Too bad for PSU fans that it took three years for his “light” to shine. :frowning:
But, good luck to him going forward.
Be a star JB.

GO JEFF!

Great to hear. Too bad we couldn’t have redshirted him - but we just needed him to play immediately.

I said all last year (and this is no offense to Talor Battle whatsoever) that I thought Jeff Brooks had a better shot at playing in the NBA than Talor. He just fit the mold physically and his skills are unique. I bet he gets a look next offseason if, ya know, the NBA ever ends this ridiculous lockout.

I’m happy to say that even when Jeff was clanging 'em from three early in his career, I was urging him to keep heaving them up there. A purely eyeballs decision!

Not to ‘what if’, but if he came around a year sooner, we’d have been really good three years in a row. He is a really good player.

IMO, his outside shot just didn’t have the right touch. Too much of a “line drive”. At one point last season, he seemed to have added some loft to his shot but then as the season progressed, he reverted to his old style. Not taking anything away from him because he does have a lot of skills but I’m not convinced that shooting 3s are one of them. And, I know that no one claimed that he was a sharpshooter … just saying.
