Dear Nittany Lion Basketball Season Ticket Holders,
The 2009-2010 season is upon us, and the journey begins this Friday with an exhibition vs. Slippery Rock at 6 pm in the Bryce Jordan Center. As we look ahead to what promises to be an exciting season, I want to take one final opportunity to look back and thank you for the role you played in making last year so special for our program.
Numbers and statistics have their place, and last year we saw attendance in the Bryce Jordan Center grow significantly as the year progressed. Those numbers can be rendered meaningless, however, if your fans aren’t there to have an impact, and to change the program. Last year, the numbers were not what changed our program. It was not the number of tickets sold that changed our program. It was your passion and your belief in our players that changed our program. There were numerous home games last year where, in the middle of the action, we could have closed our eyes and known that we were home. All of you came together to make the Bryce Jordan Center an absolute home court advantage for us all year long.
Now, we must work together to do the same, and make the advantage even stronger. One of the things I know that we can promise you each and every night, is that this team will make you proud. You will be proud of the way they work, the way they hustle, the way they care for each other, and the way they care for Penn State and the community as a whole. You will get their best each and every night they take the floor.
With a new season on our doorstep, the same challenge remains: to come together as a team and as fans. Magical things can happen as we saw last year. Let’s enjoy the ride together again, and memorable moments will await all who are part of the Penn State Basketball program: coaches, players, and you- the best fans in the world.
Let’s get it started Friday night:
