Wait a second. He only made 61 statements during that entire speech? I'm calling BS now.
Plus, checking that link, a lot of these statements were apparently true, just maybe misleading in context (though they didn't place the context there so I don't even know that for certain).
Statement: "Over 43 million people are now living in poverty."
Fact Check Rebuttal: That number is lower than it was during the Great Recession.
I don't see where Trump said it wasn't. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But this is an example of pure BS.
Statement: "We have withdrawn the United States from the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership."
Fact Check Rebuttal: You can't withdraw from something you were never actually a part of.
True, but there is a certain amount of semantics in play here. Perhaps he just meant withdraw consideration.
Statement: "I just met with officials and workers from a great American company, Harley-Davidson. In fact, they proudly displayed five of their magnificent motorcycles, made in the USA, on the front lawn of the White House."
Fact Check Rebuttal: Harley-Davidson motorcycles are assembled in the United States but assembled using parts from Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, and Mexico.
More semantics. Made / Assembled in the USA. Is this really a false statement?
THIS IS FAKE NEWS in my opinion and is what needs to stop.
