Cousy Award Finalists

Maybe Talor was out already, I wasn’t paying attention. I hope Talor schools Lucas(again) when they play. And while Hughes did a good job v. Talor, he had to switch covers after his 4th foul last game. I’m with Tim Doyle on the Big 10’s best pg, but I guess that’s no secret.

Yeah, it’s not Talor, I think he is better or as good as these guys. 0-10 does that

At least this may put a stop to the Talor NBA talk as well. Reality check.

Who exactly in PSU land really thinks Battle is NBA ready right now??? Maybe I’m in the minority, but while I think he is a great college player, he would be best suited graduating. Just my opinion.

Not.

Did you ever hear of Fred Astaire’s screen test or Pete Rose’s scouting report? Well…

You have no doubt heard of the (perhaps apocryphal) screen test report on Fred Astaire: “Can’t sing. Can’t act. Balding. Can dance a little.” The words might have been a little different, but the scouting report on Pete Rose amounted to the same thing: “Can’t run. Can’t throw. Can’t field. Can hit a little.”

Didn’t stop them. Won’t stop Talor. He’ll stay a year, but he’ll do fine.

In looking at the list, I would say most of the players are almost as good as Cousy…BUT, you got to remember Cousy is 81 years old! :o

Oh well, back to shoveling. We got pounded in Pgh. Looks like 14-16 at my house. Too much snow; no place to put it. Look like we lost a beautiful 20 year White Birch than is “pealed to the ground” like a banana.

Change that. I think we got 22-24 inches. Plus it has been snowing all morning.

Anybody watching the Tenn v. South Carolina game? I know SC beat KY, but people think Battle forces shots? My goodness. Downey takes 23 shots per game, and throws up some funky stuff. His assist/TO ratio is 76/77. Isn’t the award for pg? Is there any starting pg in the big conferences with more TO’s than assists? I’ve never seen it.

5 minutes into the second half, Tenn has 1 TO the whole game.

Interesting comments from one of the announcers on this game(Jimmy D). Talking about Downey making pros, he says that they won’t allow the hand checking in the pros as much, and he should be able to penetrate. Said that with guys like Nic Wise, Sherron Collins, Talor Battle, they need to distinguish themselves, showing they can both shoot and beat guys off the dribble. Defense is the concern with them. He thinks Downey makes it. Downey’s 5’9". I thought Collins was big.
