Those last two guys moved up, not on, and are now at places where they can win forever. If Chambers wins at Penn State, he may be able to move on to that kind of job (and there are no more than five of them), but seems more likely he'd be in the Kruger/Dixon position.
I'll use/tweak my new favorite analogy: Dixon wasn't born on third base and thought he hit a triple, he tripled off Sandy Koufax and the fan base thinks all he did was stretch a single into a double. It's hard to keep tripling off Sandy Koufax, but that's what it would take to get to the "next level"! Tom Izzo still can't get the guys that Duke, UNC, Kansas and Kentucky want.
If you can't parlay that triple off Koufax into the Kansas, North Carolina or Kentucky job, you've got to keep doing it, or your fan base will think you have underachieved. Better to keep moving. Dixon should be able to out recruit his peers at TCU (lower end Big 12) because of that triple, and make a good living doing that for a while.
