What is up at MSU that everybody is leaving, that is 3 in a year and it is not like Izzo didn’t recruit all these kids and/or hasn’t been at the school forever. Something more to the story that is not being told.

#3

Clearly there are some problems at MSU. Just seems that this team didn’t have the chemistry that other Izzo teams had. I think MSU was #2 pre-season. Izzo almost took the Cavs job last year - maybe he wishes he had.

#4

I don’t think we should read anything into it. Maybe just kids not liking Izzo’s style or thought they should be playing more or starting. Millions of reason of why.

Maybe the poor chemistry was a reason Izzo considered bolting for the NBA. Or maybe it’s just one of those things that happens from time to time.

Bradley point guard Sam Maniscalco to Illinois. Solid get for the illini.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/news/story?id=6221961

He’ll be able to play right away…should help ease the transition with McCamey graduating, as Crandall Head is the only true point who got any time behind McCamey this season. Brandon Paul is not a true point.

He is graduating? So he will only have one year left?

Yes…only one year, but perfect spot for this kid and near perfect player for this team.

It is a good spot for him. As the article says, it will help ease Tracy Abrams into the role for the future.

Yes, without another point guard on the roster, Weber would be forced to fast-track Abrams, though I have been impressed with the little i saw from Crandall Head. This kid will be the perfect spot player for them next season. Weber at least has some options now at the point.

This was posted in its own thread but belongs here. Colton Iverson transferring from Minny.

Is anyone going to get on Izzo’s or Sampson’s back like they did ED’s last year?

You mean Smith.

Right, Tubby. I knew that as I typed it, yet still typed it wrong. Funny how the brain seems to mess things up more the older I get.

Not too surprising. Iverson’s minutes seemed to go up and down and finished down this season. At the PSU game, Minnesota’s crowd collectively cringed whenever he checked into the game. Their fans were certainly down on him by the end of the year, so they told me.

In Izzo’s case, Allen was long in the dog house and Lucious was pretty much kicked off the team. Not sure what Sherman’s numbers were, but I don’t think he was a real contributor.

Joseph was a similar case as Allen, and Tubby was suspending him frequently. The Iverson transfer does mirror PSU’s transfers last season as he was an impact player who received a lot of playing time.
