Big Ten Roster Changes 2010

Just a place to keep track of what’s happening around the league.

Kyle Rowley is transferring from NW - cited desire for more playing time
Paul Carter is leaving Minnesota - cited desire to be closer to his sister, who is battling cancer
Manny Harris declared for the NBA - not sure if he has hired an agent yet, but he said he has no plans to come back to UM.
Ian Markholf quit UW, but is staying there as a student - he was just a scout team big man.

Interesting list. Lance Stephenson? He’s nuts. Last I looked, he was shooting 18% from the arc. Any GM taking him should be fired. Problem with Lance is he probably wasn’t burning up the books, so he’s got limited options.

I didn’t see John Wall on the list. Kentucky should be quite interesting. I bet their fans lose their love affair with Calipari rather quickly. Not sure what his incoming class is, but to have to replace up to 9 kids(former thread) is certain to lead to rule bending.

7 players on the McDonald AA game were undecided. 6 listed Kentucky. I think they get several of them.

Lance thinks very highly of himself. He was a good freshmen player at Cincy, but he did not make the impact many thought he was going to make… I’m surprised he hired an agent. I haven’t even looked over his list fully yet, thanks for pointing it out.

Wall is towards the bottom, listed as undecided.

I’m assuming he hires an agent.

Imagine OSU with Turner and Purdue next season? 95% chance of both being #1 seeds. OSU will still be pretty darn good, their class is STACKED.

Why do these guys want to play for Calipari? My bet is because he lowers standards(read breaks the rules). Supposedly, 4 kids are transferring. Not sure if that’s true, but if it is, not a great sign for him as coach. 5 guys entering the draft and 4 transferring was reported. Can’t be as much fun there as he leads on.

One kid, Darnell Dodson, is reportedly transferring. Five are going to the NBA, and three are graduating.

John Wall and Demarcus Cousins were always going to be one-and-dones. Orton and Bledsoe saw their stock skyrocket, and both are reportedly first round locks. Can’t blame them for leaving. Patrick Patterson stayed this season because he wanted to play for Cal. He graduated in three years, so there really isn’t much reason for him to stay.

With the 5-8 rule gone, is there no limit to how basketball scholarships can be handed out, other than the 13 man limit?

There’s no other limit.
