At points this year I've been frustrated by our effort in large losses (@Wiscy, GMU). I think this is indicative of a young team because Pat's guys usual play hard even if they are getting killed or have a talent deficiency.
Watching that IU/UM game was BRUTAL. I have never seen such a poor effort on defense by a Big Ten team, I think ever. IU had no interest in that game once it was 21-7 in the 1st half. It was incredibly painful to watch but I couldn't look away (some rubbernecking aspect there). Anyway, if anyone wants to point to a team that "quits", look no further. I am very much selling IU's long-term prospects, injuries or not.
Another note: Rutgers was up like 7 on Wiscy in MSG with 2 minutes left. I had my doubts, but there was no way the universe was going to allow RU to win that game. The only thing that gave me pause was RU beating them 2 years ago - maybe they are a weird matchup? Anyway, the live money line was +375... I sweat a lot through those last 2 minutes and some of OT. Point being: some positives can come out of knowing that the PSUs of this world follow a pattern
