Great so now the younger generation can grow up spelling fabulous wrong. It’s just ludacris the way these guys flaunt the English language.

That is a big name for an event this size. I do not care for that type of music but I think it is a good get for Chambers. Will get students to attend

Ha! very punny!

Good luck getting him to perform on time. This is a big risk, but if it goes right, it’ll be a success. I’m holding my breath.

Can I safely say that Dick Harter never did this? I bring this up because I haven’t heard anyone bring up Dick Harter recently as a reason why we should never expect to win in basketball

Now he has a good rap name…though it would be spelled DikHardr

#11

“Rap” isn’t the industry I’d think of when calling DikHardr a “good name”

#12

You got a point there…Tom. Or maybe he has the point.

Yikes! More like a porn star name! ;D

This is an awesome get for something like this - it makes me wish I was still in State College.

It wouldn’t have surprised me, and would have been a big draw, if we got Wiz Khalifa for this event, but Fabolous is still a great get.

#16

Dick Harter was interested in music! He was quite exercised by the fact that it was the jazz band that played at basketball games, and muscled them out in favor of the pep band.

Mos Def!

Most Def just changed his name to Yasiin Bey a few weeks ago

I can rap Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Kurtis Blow, RunDMC and even Eminem, seven ways till Sunday. But Fabolous and the rest of these newbies…haven’t a clue. Call me old school or just flat out old.

#19

lol I’m not exactly into rap like I was back in middle school, but Eminem ain’t exactly old compared to Fabolous. A quick wiki check tells me Eminem came to prominence in 1999, while Fab was around 2001. He never achieved the level of success that Em has, but he had a few pretty big hits that you probably don’t realize you know. These two beats in particular is still pretty commonly heard on radio (while the dj’s are talking) and in different media places. (warning for very vulgar language obviously)

Fabolous - Young’n (Holla Back) (Lyrics On Screen)

Fabolous feat. Nate Dogg - Can’t Deny It

And actually, the more I look back on some of his tracks these are all pretty well-known beats at the very least. And that’s coming from somebody who isn’t really into hip hop that much in the last 10 years.

Fabolous, Puff Daddy, & Jagged Edge - trade it all

Can’t Let You Go featuring Mike Shorey & Lil’

Any of these ring a bell, old man?

Will there be vulgar language?
